Why Should I Choose Yard Signs?

August 27, 2011 by  Filed under: Marketing

If you’re looking to advertise your business, yard signs should definitely be one of your options. Though any signage is better than none, there are some definite advantages to choosing these signs over another type of sign product.

  1. Low cost– In general, yard signage is very affordable. Technically the price depends on size, material, and quantity, but when you consider the amount of exposure you’re getting with a yard sign for the price you pay, the case is very compelling. Corrugated signs are so affordable that you can switch them out for every sale, holiday celebration, or event your business is having at that moment. Metal yard signs, while more-costly, are long-lasting, which means that you pay once for the advertising and then reap the benefits.
  2. Ease of installation– Installing signs in your yard couldn’t be easier. As long as you order appropriate accessories for your intended use, usually all you have to do to display your sign is attach it to the accessory and then stick the sign into the ground. Whereas window graphics and even car signs require proper cleaning, a detailed installation process, and then constant upkeep, signs for your yard are very low-maintenance.
  3. Portability– Another key advantage of these products is that you can take them with you. Unless you have cemented the sign into the ground or attached it to a building, your signs are portable. For political candidates and real estate agents, this is crucial, as your real estate and political yard signs can go with you to every new listing or campaign event.
  4. Reusability– Along the same lines, since these signs can be removed and repositioned, they can also be stored and reused. This is great for business advertising campaigns that occur periodically. For instance, if your business has a semi-annual clearance sale, you can order signs once and then display them every time you have the sale. Since your signs aren’t getting constant use, they’ll last much longer (as long as you store them carefully).
  5. Visibility– Lawn signs take advantage of the power of dimensionality in conveying a message. Think of how much more compelling a 3-D movie is than one that’s 2-dimensional. Along these same lines, signs placed in your yard or even out at the street will “jump out” at a customer and get their attention, much more than signs on your store windows. That’s not to stay that store window graphics aren’t important, because they are crucial for identifying your business, but rather signs in your yard are the best way to get your business noticed, and then window decals convince customers to come inside.
