Three Keys to Recruiting Quality Team Members
Most people I talk to in Direct Sales tell me that the most difficult part of their business is recruiting quality team members. I respectfully disagree! The most difficult part of the job is finding a qualified customer prospect. It is from that customer prospect, who becomes a great customer, that you will find the quality team members you want and need to grow and succeed in your business.
The key to your recruiting is in selling your customers on the features and benefits of your products. That is step number one, pure and simple. Please embrace this concept. So, you say… how do I pursue this concept?
1. Find your target customer/prospect –
This key is so important. When you figure out who you your ideal client is and pursue that market with intention, magic will happen. You need to put energy into this activity. Stop whatever you are doing and take a day to determine who your ideal client is, now. How old is she/he. What kind of business is she/he in? Where does she/he shop? What do they read, where do they hang out? What kinds of networking opportunities are available where where you might meet them? Make a commitment that you will be study this population and show up where these ideal clients will be.
2. Be a giver – Always have plenty of samples with you.
Share gifts with everyone. Track everything. Never give a sample (gift), without getting name and telephone number to follow up and get the individual’s opinion. Always ask for opinions. An opinion is a person’s very valuable possession; allow them to share it with you. It’s most important that you listen without reacting to the person’s opinion. Sincerely thank them for trying your product then ask about the next step.
3. Make sure you follow- up
I don’t know why this step is so difficult for so many people. It is key and critical. If a person is important enough to seek out and to gift with your samples (that cost you money!); how can you insult them by not following up. Refer to number 2 and remember to ask for that opinion.
People are expecting you to follow up. It’s your job and it’s the polite thing to do. Think of it as a part of your good manners. If someone gives you a gift, you follow up with a thank you. If you gift a gift and ask for an opinion; you must honor that individual by a contact asking for hat opinion.
You can do it!
