The Benefits of a Good Marketing Promotion

Promoting ones business is something that needs to be at the forefront of our minds. We don’t want to become a bore so that people do their best to avoid us and hide round corners, but it is always important to have business cards in one’s pocket and have an ear for an opening in a conversation.

There are many useful and effective ways to run a good promotion apart from simply relying on the people we come into contact with.

– By keeping the contact details of existing and potential customers and clients there develops an important database of interested names, addresses and email details. Having people’s names ensures that you can target the relevant person directly with details of special offers, promotions, and any changes or information about your business. You can use this as a way of providing helpful facts that the customer will find of assistance to them. This way they will keep your information handy and yours will become a name that becomes associated with quality.

– At slow times of the year promotions can introduce new lines and revitalise and refresh some of the older lines. By grouping several items together you can provide an attractive package at a discounted price. A popular treatment/product/line can be added to something less popular as a way of letting people become acquainted with something that is less familiar to them. And by clearing older products and stock you can improve useful cash flow whilst appearing to be giving good value to customers.

– Promotions are a good way of selling a course of treatment or service. That way customers sign up for repeat visits and get into the habit of coming to you more regularly. Introducing link-sales can then be considered as their association with your business becomes stronger.

– Re-branding and re-launching a new image can be effectively done by using a promotion. Vouchers, events, soirees are a good way of inviting people to re-visit your business and see the re-launched brand. Goody bags and free demonstrations often add value to the event and entice people along.

– Networking events or training seminars are an effective way of promoting your services whilst helping your customers improve their contacts and skills. And if they do better so will your company. Keeping your customers successful is a way of ensuring repeat business for yourself.

– Any company literature should have some connection and reference to the old, but in an evolved, more modern way, in tune with the new image. Unless you are completely walking away from the old brand it can be important to keep some of the previously used colours or imagery as a way of retaining familiarity and associations with the earlier branding. Customers like to feel a connection to a brand, especially if they have built a loyalty and trust with it. Seeing it evolve into something fresher and more modern is a way of keeping everyone on board.

Promotions provide a good reason to justify contacting customers. They offer something by way of an enticement to participate and become more involved with your company and as such are a good way to keep your name at the forefront of their minds. By ensuring that your promotions are helpful, instructive and advantageous to them they will think of you in a positive way.
