Organizing a successful fundraising event doesn’t have to be tedious or difficult; however, it will take time, planning and purposeful organization. This article shows you how to accomplish this with as little effort as possible.

The first thing you should do when organizing a fundraising event is to make a decision on the focus and goals of your event. You might ask certain questions like-what are the goals of this event and do I want to do this so that my organization will get publicity?

The next step in this fundraising event is to make a decision on how much money you want to obtain from this event. To make a decision on the amount of money you want to make, you must include in this plan how much money will be made, once all the expenses have been deducted.

Step Three in this fundraising event is to be to draw up a comprehensive list of all the expenses that will be involved to make this event successful. Such a budget list should include the cost of invitation, staff that will be needed, the rental space, the catering, the cost of utilities and other necessities for this event.

Then, you will need to select people who will be known as a host committee and a host committee chairperson or persons. These are the people who will be in charge of bringing in large amounts to the fundraising event and who will also ask of others to do the same. These people are usually business leaders or wealthy donors in the area.

Next, you will need to target a specific audience for this event. Who will it be? Will you target everyone or just owners of business? Think about who it is you want to attract to this occasion. Then, you must make plans for setting up this event. Such decisions for setting up this event might include where it will be held, what kind of entertainment will be given, what kinds of food will be offered and what kind of clothes will be worn. In addition, you will need to make a decision on marketing. Make up a plan of how you will market this event such as mailing invitations, phone banks and direct mail. Making ticket sales or seeking donations for this event will need to be done. You will also have to decide if there will be various contribution amounts such as a flat ticket charge. And, who will sell the tickets and how will they be delivered-these questions must also be answered.

In addition, before this event takes place, there should be some practice run throughs done. Everyone should know well in advance before this event takes place, what their responsibilities are and where they should be while this is going on. Finally, once contributions come in it is vital to always say thank you to the contributors.
