Bring Enough Employees

One person can’t do everything! While it might be tempting to try to save money by only sending one employee, what happens if that person needs to use the restroom or wants to eat lunch? If you’re attending a smaller event, you might be able to get by with sending just two employees, but a good rule of thumb is to send at least one more employee than you think you need.

Instead, take the time to get to the event early so you can adequately plan where everything goes and get your exhibit space looking exactly the way you want it to. Instead, take the time to prepare — put marketing materials into the right spots on your display, get computers set up, or simply just take a quick walk around the exhibition hall to discover where the restrooms and vending machines are.


While it might be tempting to sit at your exhibit and let the attendees come to you, what happens if they never make it to your booth? Instead, circulate around the venue and invite people to visit your trade show exhibit. However, make it a point to not approach a customer while they’re at displays talking with a vendor. There will be plenty of opportunities to approach customers when they’re not involved in a conversation so be patient.

Get Your Product Into The Hands Of Potential Customers

Remember show and tell? Chances are good that you remember the presentations where you were able to actually touch something, rather than just being told about it. The same is true for your customers. If you have a product, take it out of its packaging so customers can fully appreciate it while they’re visiting your trade show stand. It might seem like a simple step, but it’s an important one.
