Creating A Brand Your Customers Trust

If you want customers to purchase products or services from you, then it’s important to make them feel assured that they’re dealing with a credible business. This is especially true of an online business – since your customers are giving out their their credit card number and other sensitive information. For this reason, you don’t want your customers thinking that you run your business out of your garage because then they may feel uncomfortable providing you with such information. Therefore, it’s vital to create a brand that your customers both recognise and trust.

There are several important things that you should know about branding:

  • Your brand differentiates you from your competition.
  • It’s a set of expectations that are created within your customers’ minds about your business. This has to do with practically everything, including your work ethic, customer service and quality of products or services you offer. In other words, your brand is more than just a name and a logo.
  • It’s your reputation. Whenever it’s good it will add value, which your customers will come to expect. This is because whenever they see your brand and have good things associated with it, they’ll more than likely to choose you over your competition regardless of cost.

Consistent branding is the key
Your branding’s design must be consistent throughout all of the marketing materials that you use. In this way you’ll make your business appear bigger than it actually is. This is why it’s so important to figure out what message you want to give off, which then should be carried over to all of your promotional materials including business cards, press kits and print materials. All of these items should reflect the fonts and colors of your logo, as well as images that are aligned to the values and themes you want to project.

Also, keep in mind that your brand’s format should continue throughout your entire website. This includes its layout, the tone that’s used within your web copy and even the navigation of your website. Whenever your website is unified and professional looking it will build your customer’s confidence and give your business credibility.

Continuing Onwards
It’s important for your brand to evolve so that it reflects your target market’s changing needs. This is an ongoing process that should begin within your startup phase and continue throughout the business’ lifecycle. In other words, this is something that shouldn’t ever end.
